This little cheap board is the best choice for you to make a rechargeable device, using old laptop batteries.
They are thrown away when something wrong with the laptop, or the battery pack is low on charge or even because the laptop is old.
Opening a battery pack isn't a easy process and couldn't be done by inexperienced people. I can't recommend it for anyone because it can be dangerous. Batteries have chemicals that can be dangerous if damaged and even might explode when in short circuit, overheating, inverted, wrong associated, etc.
In other hand, when correctly reused, most of them have a longer period of service. Often the pack has one or two dead batteries but the others can be used.
If you have the patience and skills to recover it you can save money on batteries and power your devices with them.

This board is useful to charge a topical 3.7 Volt battery like the 18650 type. Great value for money.

I had one before, i use it to charge my old laptop batteries, they are 18650, it´s very useful and cheap!
